Zagreb in three days

Day 1

It is best to start your stay in Zagreb sightseeing and visiting the Zagreb City Museum, which will present a history of Zagreb from prehistory to present day.

After visiting the city’s sights, visit the popular observation deck the Zagreb Eye, which offers a spectacular view of Ban Jelačić Square, Kaptol, Gradec, Donji grad and the most important cultural and historical buildings in Zagreb, its squares, streets and parks.

Day 2

Zagreb is a city full of museums. Start your day with a visit to the Museum of Contemporary Art in Novi Zagreb. You can easily get to the museums with your Zagreb Card, which covers public transportation.

Spend your afternoon in the city centre. If you are a fan of applied arts, we recommend you visit the Museum of Arts and Crafts, where you will be able to see collections of furniture, glass, metal, graphic and product design, photographs and photographic equipment, musical instruments and many other artefacts.

In the evening, we recommend taking the funicular to the Gornji grad, where you can enjoy a beautiful sunset and the extraordinary view of the city, and also visit one of the most innovative European museums: the Museum of Broken Relationships.

Day 3

In the eastern part of the city, several tram stops away from the main city square, you will find Maksimir Park. It is the first public promenade in South-Eastern Europe, opened in 1794. Take a walk through this green oasis and visit the zoo that is home to  about 360 species of animals and almost 8,000specimens of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish and invertebrates from almost every continent.

After visiting the Park, take advantage of your Zagreb Card for shopping in stores where  you can get a discount or visit the locations in the outskirts of Zagreb.

Morning

It is best to start your stay in Zagreb with some sightseeing. Take advantage of your Zagreb Card to take the funicular, and visit one of the museums in Gornji grad. The Zagreb City Museum  showcases the history of Zagreb from prehistory to present day, while in the Museum of Broken Relationships, one of the most innovative European museums, you will have the chance to see exhibits from all over the world, each has a story of a failed relationship.

Afternoon
